Curtis is the daughter of Carmencita Ojales, a Filipina born in Bolinao Pangasinan, and James Ernest Curtis Smith who is an Australian lawyer. Curtis was born in Yarrawonga located in Victoria, Australia. Her father was married to Ojales in 1982. Jasmine is her older sister. is an actress too. Their father had a half sister called Clare and she passed away in 2007 at age just four months, due to the cardiovascular disease.
